How much water per kilogram

Drip takes 35 ml per kilogram for men and 31 ml for women. Then it adds 3 ml for every centimetre of height above 170, takes the same off for every centimetre below, and rounds to 50 ml.

How to read the chart

The chart is worked out for a height of 170 cm on an ordinary day. A man who is 180 cm and weighs 80 kg gets 2,850 ml instead of 2,800 ml.

Why the number stops growing

The formula has a ceiling: 3,200 ml for men and 2,500 ml for women. At 170 cm it starts at about 92 kg (203 lb) for men and 81 kg (179 lb) for women, so the last rows stop changing. At the other end the number never goes below 1,500 ml.

Workout days

On a workout day add 500 ml to the number in the chart. Drip does it with one switch.
