Water drinking schedule
A schedule stops your daily amount piling up for the evening. Take your number, split it into glasses and space them across the hours you are awake.
How to make a water schedule
It takes four steps:
- work out your daily amount in the calculator
- split it into 250 ml glasses
- note when you get up and go to bed
- divide that time by the number of glasses
A schedule for 2,000 ml a day
That is 8 glasses. If your day starts at 8 am, a glass every two hours gets you there by 10 pm:
- 08:00: 250 ml so far
- 10:00: 500 ml so far
- 12:00: 750 ml so far
- 14:00: 1,000 ml so far
- 16:00: 1,250 ml so far
- 18:00: 1,500 ml so far
- 20:00: 1,750 ml so far
- 22:00: 2,000 ml so far
A schedule for 2,500 ml a day
That is 10 glasses. From the same morning, a glass every hour and a half finishes at 9:30 pm:
- 08:00: 250 ml so far
- 09:30: 500 ml so far
- 11:00: 750 ml so far
- 12:30: 1,000 ml so far
- 14:00: 1,250 ml so far
- 15:30: 1,500 ml so far
- 17:00: 1,750 ml so far
- 18:30: 2,000 ml so far
- 20:00: 2,250 ml so far
- 21:30: 2,500 ml so far
Is there a best time to drink water for weight loss?
No. Water burns no fat in the morning or at night, so the schedule stays the same: your usual amount, split into glasses.
What helps is the routine. A glass before a meal is an easy one to keep, and your number should follow your current weight.
If you miss a glass
Have the next one on time and carry on. Catching up on the whole day in the evening is hard work, and you will pay for it at night.
How to keep to it
Holding the hours in your head is hard, so hand them to Drip. Tell it when you are awake and how often to remind you, from every 30 minutes to every 4 hours. Out of the box that is 8:00 to 23:00, every hour and a half, and all of it is easy to change.
Drip messages you in Telegram, keeps quiet when you are ahead and stops once you reach your number.
Questions
How should I spread water through the day?
In equal amounts while you are awake. Split your daily number into 250 ml glasses and have one at regular intervals.
Do I have to stick to exact times?
No. The times are only there so you remember. A glass that slips by half an hour changes nothing.
Which app reminds you to drink water on a schedule?
Drip. It is a Telegram bot that reminds you on your own schedule and keeps quiet when you are ahead. There is nothing to install.

This is not medical advice. If you have kidney or heart problems, are pregnant or your doctor limits fluids, your doctor sets the amount.
